Peach & Me: Love, and Longing| A BL Series

•

Peach and Me is the continuation of the series Me and Thee, following the life of Thee and Peach after their wedding and what married life looks like, especially now that they have two kids. It’s a very dramatic rom-com because of Thee, and I was laughing the whole way through. It really did justice to the continued story and my attachment to Me and Thee.

Synopsis

Following the wedding of Thee and Peach, the two return to reality after six months of honeymooning and traveling. They basically have to learn to be a married couple and manage their own things even though they miss each other when apart. There’s also a hint of the mafia world that Thee’s family is involved in, and by a hint, I really mean a tiny little drop.

Themes of Peach and Me

  • Taking a Chance on Love — Peach pushes Mok and Rome to recognize their love for each other, and he also tells his new bodyguard that it’s okay to love, and that her job shouldn’t be the only thing important to her.
  • Being an individual even while married — Thee and Peach are figuring out how to stay two whole people inside one marriage, each quietly making space for the other’s passions.
  • Brotherly Sacrifice — Thee is deemed not fit to take over the dark side of the family company from their father, so Rome has to step up instead. It causes a little disturbance, and we see Rome carry that weight on his own, along with the brothers talking through the transition together.
  • Dealing with Change — Tawan and Aran rebuild their romantic relationship while also opening a restaurant. Peach and Thee navigate the changes that come with becoming parents. Rome adjusts to his new role in leadership.

Character Review for Peach and Me

Thee

Charismatic and doesn’t care when people call him goofy. He loves his husband deeply, and even though he wants Peach by his side consistently, he’s willing to let Peach do the things he loves, like working. Thee will cry in silence from missing his husband, just to let Peach be happy.

Peach

A very patient man who understands his husband and loves the little chaos he brings. He focuses on keeping all the promises he made to his husband. We still see how he loves photography, but he tries to keep that hidden from his husband to be considerate. He also loves helping others and his friends. While making sure everyone has a chance to live their life and love who they want to love.

Thee and Peach
Rome and Mok

Rome

Loves teasing his brother, and while they both like to pretend they don’t like each other, they truly do, and I love their brotherly bond. Rome is a jealous man, just like his brother. He doesn’t want people getting close to Mok, who is Thee’s best friend, and we see Rome basically making sure Mok stays with him.

Mok

Another patient man who deals with the two chaotic Arseni boys. He was raised alongside both of them, and we see his sassy personality come out whenever the brothers wreak havoc. All three boys had to grow up too soon, and we get to see them be a bit more laid back because Peach brings that out of them.

Acting & Performance | Peach and Me

I loved the fun acting in this series. No one was taking themselves too seriously, and you could tell they were having fun. It definitely leaned into the comedy, and you could feel everyone enjoying themselves. I also loved that GMMTV highlighted other BL couples when building out Peach and Thee’s story, using other BL actors so it felt connected to the BL world, since we already know the couples.

One standout moment is in Episode 4, when Thee and Peach start working on their own love story series. We get a run of GMMTV couples stepping in to play Thee and Peach. We see the re-staging scenes we saw back in Me and Thee. It was great watching them bring those moments back. It felt like a wink at the audience, almost breaking the fourth wall.

Level of Spiciness

Spiciness: There were suggestive comments and some kiss scenes, but nothing too raunchy.

Overall Thoughts

Love, love, love. It brought these characters back, and I just wanted more of them. I absolutely love PondPhuwin and will always support what they’re doing, and I loved how the series dove into the other couples’ stories and gave them some screen time as well.

I will say the plot was a bit lacking in conflict. There was one fight scene, but other than that I felt it was very much a slice-of-life series.
