The Heart Killers Overview
The Heart Killers is such a fun watch, and it will definitely have you tearing up. It also helps that two of my favorite pairings star in this series: JoongDunk and FirstKhaotung.

I recently rewatched this series and got teary-eyed for a second time. This is definitely a series that I will keep coming back to, and I absolutely love that.
This series is a very rough and very distant adaptation of a couple of Shakespeare stories, with the overarching story loosely adapted from The Taming of the Shrew.
The Heart Killers Synopsis: What Is the Series About?
The Heart Killers follows the love stories of two pairings: Kant and Bison, and Fadel and Style.
The two couples meet under very different circumstances. Kant and Bison meet as a one-night stand, while Fadel and Style meet after Style accidentally bumps into Fadel’s car.
In the beginning, the relationships are basically a cat-and-mouse game. Bison can’t get into a relationship because his brother, Fadel, is extremely strict about it, so Bison tells Kant the only way forward is if Fadel finds love too. He believes that if Fadel softens up, he’ll finally be allowed to live the life he wants.
To make things even more complicated, Bison and Fadel are assassins, so getting close to other people isn’t exactly ideal for them. Kant is friends with Style, so he asks Style to pursue Fadel. But there’s an even bigger twist: Kant is secretly working as an informant for the police, helping them catch Fadel and Bison.
From there, we get to see not only the love stories unfold but also the criminal storyline and all of the chaos that comes with it.
The Heart Killers Themes: Trust, Loyalty & Found Family
Trust and Loyalty in The Heart Killers
Trust is constantly tested because of the dynamics between the characters and the lifestyles they live. Fadel has a particularly difficult time trusting people because he is an assassin, and someone he once trusted left him. That experience caused him to harden his heart and become closed off.
And when you have trust, you also have loyalty.

Loyalty is another major struggle throughout the series because, as the two couples begin falling in love, they aren’t technically being loyal to each other. They’re hiding the truth about who they are, what they’re doing, and what their ulterior motives are.
Towards the end, however, trust and loyalty become much stronger bonds between the two couples. In the beginning, both are extremely shaky, and we even see the characters lose trust in people they once completely believed in.
Sibling Love and Found Family in The Heart Killers

Another major theme is sibling love and found family.
We see Kant’s love for his younger brother throughout the series. After their parents die in a plane crash, Kant has to step up and become his brother’s provider. Everything he does—even the things he doesn’t necessarily want to do—is ultimately about making sure his brother is taken care of, stays in school, and has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.
We also see found family through Bison and Fadel. While they aren’t biological brothers, they are brothers because of how deeply they care about each other and how determined they are to protect one another.
They’re both orphans, so they don’t really have anyone else besides each other. By the end, we see how these four individuals come together and create their own little family dynamic.
The Heart Killers Characters
Kant Pattanawat — First Kanaphan Puitrakul

Kant used to be a car thief who has since reformed, but unfortunately, his past catches up with him. That’s how he ends up becoming an informant for the police and targeting his own one-night stand—someone he never expected to fall for so quickly.
Kant became a car thief because he needed to support his younger brother after their parents died in a plane crash when he was very young.
When it comes to love, Kant is incredibly corny, which I honestly love. He also has the dressing style of an older man and drives a very old car, so his entire aesthetic gives very much old hippie, and somehow it works perfectly for him.
Bison Aechitpol Phanlert — Khaotung Thanawat Ratanakitpaisan
Bison is a hothead who dreams of having a boyfriend and leaving the assassin world behind.
He spends much of the series trying to make that happen, even going so far as to push his brother toward a relationship in hopes it’ll finally earn him his freedom.
Bison is also extremely jealous and very much an act-first, think-later kind of person. He feels everything intensely and isn’t afraid to show it.

Fadel Kasemsan — Joong Archen Aydin

Fadel is closed off from the world. After his previous relationship didn’t work out, he essentially shuts down emotionally and focuses entirely on his work.
At the beginning of the series, he seems to believe that this is simply how his life is going to be—that he’ll continue living this way until he dies. He doesn’t think he has much to live for, aside from Bison.
He even believes that if he were to die, Bison would probably be the only person crying at his funeral.
Fadel grieves internally and doesn’t allow people to see his emotions. For most of the beginning, we don’t know much about him emotionally.
One thing we do know, though, is that he loves his burger restaurant.
Style Sattawat Chayakorn — Dunk Natachai Boonprasert

Style is the complete opposite of Fadel, and that’s probably exactly why they work so well together.
Style is loud, outgoing, and completely unafraid to show who he is or what he’s interested in. That personality is exactly what it takes to slowly soften Fadel.
Style also has his own trauma. His mother passed away, but instead of openly showing his sadness, he hides it behind his humor and bubbly personality. You don’t immediately realize that he’s hurting because he’s always smiling, joking, and being energetic.
He’s also incredibly determined. Once Style finds something—or someone—that he likes or loves, he goes all out to make sure he gets it.
The Heart Killers Main Cast
The four main characters are played by:
- First Kanaphan Puitrakul as Kant Pattanawat
- Khaotung Thanawat Ratanakitpaisan as Bison Aechitpol Phanlert
- Joong Archen Aydin as Fadel Kasemsan
- Dunk Natachai Boonprasert as Style Sattawat Chayakorn
The Heart Killers Love Interests & Romance Tropes
Enemies to Lovers: Fadel and Style
The first is enemies to lovers, which I would say primarily applies to Fadel and Style. Their relationship starts with Style accidentally hitting Fadel’s car, and it takes several episodes for Fadel to warm up to him.
With Kant and Bison, we get the one-night stand to lovers trope. And honestly, for both couples, blinded by love is heavily applied.
Kant and Style betray Fadel and Bison, while Fadel and Bison also have their own reasons for not trusting them. Yet, somehow, everything gets resolved relatively quickly because of love.
The reason Kant and Style don’t die after their betrayals is ultimately because Fadel and Bison love them. And on the other side, Kant and Style know that these two men are assassins—and they love them anyway. So, basically: love conquers all… including murder.
The Heart Killers Supporting Characters

Babe
Babe, Kant’s younger brother. He somewhat introduces all of the Shakespeare terminology for viewers who haven’t read Shakespeare. He’s the reader of the group, constantly explaining different Shakespearean love stories and how they connect to what the characters are experiencing.
Babe is also the reason Kant becomes an informant for the police. Kant doesn’t want to go to prison and leave his younger brother without anyone to take care of him.

The Captain
The Captain, approaches Kant about becoming an informant. I can’t decide whether he’s a good character or a bad character. On one hand, he’s a police officer who is supposedly upholding the law. On the other hand, he bribes his child’s school to get his child admitted, which definitely puts him in questionable territory.
However, in the end, the Captain does make sure that Fadel and Bison don’t receive an excessively harsh sentence and that Kant and Style are able to see their loved ones.

Style’s Father
Style’s father is also adorable.
He is incredibly accepting of his son and the people his son loves. He’s immediately okay with finding out that his son’s boyfriend is an assassin—which is certainly not something you hear every day.
He’s just a loving parent who wants the best for Style and allows him to be exactly who he is. He recognizes that his son is bold, loud, and a little bit chaotic, and he loves him for all of it.

Lily
Last but not least, we have Lily, whom Fadel and Bison call their mother.
Lily is manipulative and cunning, and she is where a majority of the conflict comes from. We don’t get too many scenes with her, but whenever she appears, you immediately feel like something is wrong.
Even before we know exactly what she’s doing, there’s something about her that makes you think, “Yeah… I don’t trust her.”
The Heart Killers Acting & Performances
I will always say this about any series that First and Khaotung are in: they will cry, and they will absolutely crush it.
They are amazing at portraying emotions. You can tell just how deeply they immerse themselves in their scenes, and their chemistry makes their emotional moments hit even harder.
First and Khaotung’s Chemistry
First and Khaotung are incredible when it comes to emotional scenes. Their ability to cry and portray complicated emotions makes their scenes together feel incredibly raw.
You can feel how much their characters care about each other, and their chemistry makes those emotional moments even more impactful.
Joong and Dunk’s Chemistry
On the flip side, Joong and Dunk bring the steam.
You can feel the passion between them. Their chemistry practically jumps out of every scene they’re in, making you want to see more of their characters together—even outside of the series.
Sometimes, you watch them and think, Where does the character end and the actor begin?
The Heart Killers Spice Level 🌶️
How Spicy Is The Heart Killers?

Spice level: 5 out of 5 chili peppers. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
It was amazing from beginning to end.
We got passionate scenes, kissing scenes, emotional intimacy, and everything beautifully lined up with the storyline.
It never felt like the series was randomly throwing in a love scene just for the sake of having one. The romantic and intimate moments actually connected to the overall story and helped develop the relationships between the characters.
So I’m giving this one a 5/5, and that’s saying something—especially because this is a GMMTV series, and they’re not exactly known for being super spicy.
Spicy Rating: 5/5 chili peppers 🌶️
The Heart Killers Review: My Overall Thoughts

Overall, I absolutely love this series and everything it has provided.
It is one of my favorite series to rewatch, and I love the dynamics between the four main characters—not just individually, but in the way they interact with each other.
Every character feels well thought out, and the conflict makes sense within the story.
There isn’t really a boring moment where you’re sitting there thinking, “I wish they would just move on already.”
If anything, the moments you might want to speed through are the emotional ones because you don’t want to cry—which, honestly, is a great thing.
The series made me laugh, stressed me out, made me fall in love with the characters, and definitely made me cry.
Is The Heart Killers Worth Watching?
Absolutely.
This is a very confusing storyline with yellow flag characters all around—everyone is lying, betraying, or hiding something from someone they love—and somehow that’s exactly what makes it a must-watch.
