August 2026 Top Watches

•

August was honestly another great month for entertainment. Here are my top 10 watches for August 2026. I found myself bouncing between Korean dramas, BL series, action, romance, thrillers, and, of course, a few shows that had me staring at my screen wondering why I keep doing this to myself.

Now, these aren’t necessarily shows that were released in August. This list is based on the series I was watching and enjoying throughout the month.

And yes, you may notice a few familiar faces from July.

Payback, Don’t Be Too Emotional, A Winter Sun, Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills, and Bittersweet Love are all returning to this month’s list. These series made my Top 10 Watches of July, and because I continued watching them into August 2026, they had the chance to either hold onto their spots, move up, move down, or get completely pushed out by something new.

Basically, August was time for the returning dramas to defend their titles. 😂

But for now, these are my Top 10 Watches of August 2026.

Let’s get into it.

August 2026 Top Watch: Payback

Payback easily takes the number one spot for me this month because it gave me that satisfying combination of drama, revenge, strategy, and characters I actually wanted to keep watching.

Check out my Payback Review : All Series Episodes Fully Out

2. Don’t Be Too Emotional

And yes, I definitely had moments where I wanted to tell the characters to please just communicate. Because apparently fictional people have never heard of a simple conversation.

Episodes still releasing as of August 27th

3. A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in the Springs Hill

A Winter Sun has been playing with my emotions in a way that I was not entirely prepared for. There is something about this drama that feels heavier and more emotionally layered than some of the other shows I watched this month.I found myself paying close attention to the characters, their decisions, and the reasons behind the things they were doing.

4. Knot

Knot was such a fun addition to my watch-list this month. I thought this series would be full on cringe moments. There is a hefty amount of cringe, but I am enjoying the story so far. Also first Omegaverse..

Episodes still releasing as of August 27th

5. Taxi Driver

I finally watched Taxi Driver this month, and I completely understand why this series has gotten so much attention. The premise alone is incredibly satisfying: people who have been failed by the system get another chance at justice through a group that is very willing to take matters into their own hands. I found this series looking for recommendations after watching Teach you a lesson another good one. I have only watched one season so far

All Series Episodes Fully Out

6. Weirdo 101

Weirdo 101 is still only 2 episodes out, but it manage to rise above a lot of other series, because of SeaKeen’s relationship dynamic and the concept. Also it is different from the other things that I am currently watching it is more fluffy and cutesy.

Episodes still releasing as of August 27th

7. Bittersweet Love

Bittersweet Love was exactly that. I enjoyed how the submissive one in the couple was in love and enjoying whenever the dominant was nice to him. I hated when he mistreated him or used him. I guess that why it’s called bittersweet love. Loved how the series invoked different emotions in me.

All Series Episodes Fully Out

8. Leverage: Redemption

I am only three episodes in. It has been great seeing the Leverage gang taking on new bad guys and we are seeing different ways of operating with the new age.

Episodes still releasing as of August 27th

9. To My Shore

It took a while for me to even get past a couple episode, but as I got through it, I started enjoying the series.

All Series Episodes Fully Out

10. Be My Player 2

Be My Player 2 rounds out my Top 10 for August 2026.

This was another newer watch for me, and while I don’t think I’m emotionally attached to it in the same way as some of my higher-ranked shows, I still had fun watching it.

Episodes still releasing as of August 27th

Final Thoughts on August 2026

From revenge and action to romance, BL, complicated relationships, emotional story lines, and shows that had me staring at my screen wondering why these characters keep making these decisions, I had a lot of fun with this month’s lineup.
